Bishop Jacobus Messiah of the 19th Episcopal District
The African Methodist Episcopal Church has preached salvation from sin and deliverance from bondage. Whether in schools, seminaries, hospitals or social-service centers. Living the gospel outside its sanctuaries. This mandate still informs its ministry, vision and mission in the Church's third century of existence.
The Mission of the AME Church is to minister to the social, spiritual and physical development of all people.
At every level of the Connection, the AME Church shall engage in carrying out the spirit of the original Free African Society: that is, to seek out and save the lost and to serve the needy.

Reverend LB Dlamini
Rev. LB Dlamini joined the Masibambisane AME Church in 1992 as a young pastor, revolutionizing the preaching style of many lay preachers and significantly expanding the Church despite limited resources. He established numerous mission stations, trained lay preachers, and actively engaged in community education on HIV/AIDS and voter registration. Renowned for his commitment to pastoral care, he regularly visited the sick and elderly, administered Holy Communion, and led vibrant Easter celebrations. Dlamini's leadership fostered unity among previously divided circuits and facilitated the emergence of new leaders within the Church. He dedicated over 12 years of service to the A.M.E Church before transitioning to other districts, consistently exemplifying dedication and servanthood. Presiding Elder Dlamini is celebrated as a true servant of the Lord.

Charlotte Maxeke played a crucial role in the establishment and enduring legacy of the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME) in Southern Africa. After attending Wilberforce University, she became a vital connection between the US-based AME Church and South Africa. Her efforts, in collaboration with her sister Katie Makhanya, culminated in the founding of the "New" AME Church in South Africa, transforming it into a center for anticolonial, feminist, and Pan-Africanist activism.
